Alcohol can cause many problems for your
heart. Alcohol slows down your heart rate. Heavy drinking also
can cause high blood pressure. High blood pressure means that
your heart is working harder than normal to pump blood through
your body. But isn’t high blood pressure only a problem
for older people? Think again. Having high blood pressure at
an early age raises the chance of a heart attack later in life.
